There were many controversial comments from audiences whether Matt Damon played a cold role or smug sometime. To be honest; However, in other potrait Matt Damon has completed his part so well – too incredible and marvellous. During 144 mins, every shoot in this film takes all my attention. I can feel my heart beating up and down when he was left behind on the Mars, and also when his peers got him from space. A number of people claim that how heartless and missing emotion of Matt Damon’s performance, It’s just like “ok I’m stuck on Mars, now growing potatoes”. No it’s not enough dear!! Would you imagine that a person stuck on Mars will do such of thing? no way man! instead of the fear/hopeless/ despair, he trying to survive by his talented. The plot was going smoothly thought then it makes we wonder if the knowledge of science and technology could be able to conduct or not. From the problem of Oxygen on the space to produce water (H2O) – he combined two molecules of diatomic hydrogen (H2) with one molecule of diatomic oxygen (O2). Wow this is brilliant scene I have ever seen in my life – how they drawing such a picture like that???
In my view, Matt Damon brings me from deep emotion to high feeling – he did an outstanding business!. Back in Mr Ripley Talented, his trait character was obsessed with a theme of a murder; Nevertheless, In The Martian he completely flipped. Since he’s genuinely intelligent in picking up roles, I would give him thousand of thump up.
For those who compare this film with Cast Away of Tom Hank please stop trying to do that. It’s worthless and not suitable for BOTH OF THESE MASTERPIECES.
Trivia you may not know:
A real potato farm was installed on the studio lot with potatoes in all stages of growth so they could be used for filming.
Matt Damon was willing to lose massive amount of weight for the scene towards the end of the movie but Ridley Scott forbade it. Instead a body double was used. – He did not loose weight for real but rely on special technical on scene.
On September 28, 2015 (four days before the film’s scheduled US release), NASA announced that it had found evidence that briny water still flows on the surface of Mars.
